New Year, New Energy – 6 Ways to Start Your Year on the Right Foot

Have you already started to slip back into old habits, as the “New Year’s” excitement begins to drift further away? This is your reminder to look at those goals again and set yourself up to see results all year long. The beginning of the year is an excellent time to identify opportunities to create personal and professional growth objectives.

Even if you didn’t make “New Year’s Resolutions”, welcome the opportunity to identify your potential, formulate a plan and create a fresh start. Set some goals to fill your job with energy and excitement in 2022.

Begin by choosing reasonable and measurable targets – thinking of S.M.A.R.T goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely). Not only are you more likely to achieve goals that are measured and tracked, but you’ll more quickly enjoy the feeling of success as you check them off your list. Spend time looking at areas in your career you have control over and focus on goals that will improve your experience in those areas.

For those of you who work closely with your Spa Management System – we have some specific suggestions to help you get started on the right foot:

1. Perform an Internal Audit of What You Do

Take some personal quiet time to review your role and what you do every day. What areas would you like to grow in? What training would help you perform better in your role? Taking a deep look at where you are and where you want to be is a great place to start. Then write down your observations and draft a plan on how you plan to reach your goals. Similar to the benefits of performing a regular software audit for your spa management system, a self-audit helps identify places where small changes can make a big impact on your day-to-day life.

2. Enhance Your Skills and Add to Your Education

Learning should be a lifelong process. Continually adding to and refining your skillset ensures that you are prepared for a long and successful career. There are many ways to expand your educational horizon that will benefit your career in the long run:

3. Expand your Network

Create more interpersonal relationships and deeper career connections to experience greater satisfaction in your work. This means building deeper connections with those on your team and expanding those connections outside of your organization. Networking also opens you up to more opportunities, events, and resources to help you grow. The internet has made it relatively easy to expand your social network through tools like LinkedIn and other platforms of the sort.

4. Fix What Bothers You

We normally all have some things in our day-to-day jobs that just don’t work smoothly. Identify those pain points and look for a solution. If there’s something in your spa system that is causing you challenges, we offer a few resources you can use to research possible solutions. The Customer Community offers hundreds of knowledge articles, guides, recorded webinars, and other helpful resources. If you have any lingering issues, take care of those by connecting with our support team to start your new year off on the right.

5. Get Started Today

With big objectives we anticipate that it will take time to achieve them. However, it’s the work that you do every day that will enable you to meet the goals that you set for the next 6-12 months in the future.

6. Don’t Give Up

Sometimes, the answer isn’t always easy. Sometimes, your first try doesn’t succeed. Sometimes, what seems simple is actually quite complicated. Don’t give up immediately and don’t let a bad day or a bad email or a bad meeting get you off track. If you believe that your goal is possible, keep working at it!
