Like all of you, both personally and professionally our lives continue to be dominated by the COVID19 pandemic and the anxiety of the unknown. Arguably, no other industry has been hit as hard as the hotel & travel industry has. However, I am pleased to see promising signs of revival, as our customers pivot and adjust. Properties are beginning to re-open, and welcome guests back, albeit with some operational changes and challenges. We have seen our customers use this time to invest in their people, with training and new software that aides the team to operate in the new normal. I remain hopeful and motivated by the success stories of our customers. We are in this together, and the collaboration and support of the user community has been impressive to witness. As an organization, I am equally as impressed with the resilience of our business and employees alike. Overnight, we essentially transitioned our worldwide Springer-Miller Systems operations to a work-from-home model. At this time our offices are slowly opening back up where it is warranted and safe, and the team continues to make me proud as they find creative ways to collaborate and execute. SMS is committed to our goal of being the best partner and technology provider that we can to our loyal customers. As a business, we are motivated by our customer community and eager to deliver solutions.
At this time, all in person events remain postponed, cancelled, or have transitioned to virtual. An important annual event I encourage you to attend virtually is the Host Users Group Conference. With the daily updates and constant changes surrounding COVID-19, Springer-Miller would like to reach out and offer our support to help in navigating these challenging times together. Please know that the health and safety of all our Springer-Miller clients and employees is of the utmost importance to us. We are closely monitoring the situation and will follow both the CDC recommendations and any State regulations/mandates as things evolve.
Keeping our team’s and customer’s health at the forefront, we will be postponing all of our up-coming events within the next 60-days. This includes our Live+Local events that were planned in Miami, Seattle and Washington D.C. We will be communicating in the near future regarding new dates and information for these events. With the changes to our live events, we plan on increasing our online presence through webinars and online trainings.
